Enrique Cortes came to the United States in 1987 when he was around 8 years old. He always had an intense love for cars, and had dreams of a life-long career in the automotive industry since his childhood. He has worked hard throughout his life to achieve master-level training and skills. 

5th Gear Motorsports of Topeka, Kansas first opened it's doors in 2001. Enrique has since worked continuously on improving and growing his business, with many years of experience in exhaust work, dyno-tuning and other performance services, aftermarket applications, and collision and body work.

Enrique has always had a passion for fast and beautiful cars, with a particular love for the Nissan Skyline. His work has been seen throughout the years in the local imports/racing scene, and many local enthusiasts recognize his name and decals. Many more are proud to call him their friend and most trusted mechanic. He has three amazing children and a wonderful family, and loves to teach his kids about cars whenever they spend time with him up at the shop.

The founding of 5th Gear Motorsports is a true story of hard work, persistence, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Enrique prides himself on offering his customers quality repairs, fair and honest pricing, and personal accountability is of utmost importance to him.
